Backshift
Enter your shifts. See what they pay.
Backshift turns a rotation into a calendar, then works out what the month actually earns you — night premiums, holidays and overtime counted to the minute.
Set it once
A rotation is a pattern, not 365 separate decisions.
Tell Backshift the shape of your cycle — two days, two nights, four off — and it fills the calendar forward. Change jobs and you change the pattern, not every entry. Ready-made patterns cover the common ones: twelve-hour twos, three-shift eights, and rotations that keep annual leave and sick days apart.
Build the cycle
Name the shifts, set the hours, say how many days each one runs.
Apply it forward
Before anything is written you see what changes — and days you edited by hand are left alone.
Fix a single day
Swap a shift, add a note, edit the hours for one day. The pattern stays intact.
The money
What the month pays, not what it should pay.
Most shift calendars stop at the hours. Backshift carries them through to an amount: base rate, night premium for the minutes that actually fall in the night window, holiday rate, and overtime once you pass the threshold. Premiums apply to the base rate and never compound on each other, so the number is one you can check.
Planned and actual are kept apart.
The rotation says you work 19:30 to 07:30. The night you stayed an extra hour is recorded separately, and nothing merges the two. You can see the plan, the record, and the difference between them.
At a glance
The next shift, without opening anything.
A widget on the home screen, a complication on the watch face, and a live countdown on the lock screen while a shift is running. The watch keeps the last plan it received, so it still answers when the phone is in a locker.
Privacy
Your wage is nobody else's business.
Shifts, rates and notes live in the app's own storage on your device. iCloud sync is off until you turn it on, and when it is on the data goes to your own iCloud — not to us. There is no account and no analytics.
Pricing

Building your rotation, recording what you actually worked, the widgets, the watch app and this week's earnings cost nothing and are not a trial. Pro adds the month: the monthly total, past months, comparisons, export, calendar sharing and the night guide.

Questions
Does it work out overtime?
Yes, once you set the threshold — weekly or monthly. Overtime applies to the minutes past it, and never stacks on top of another premium for the same minute.
What about a night shift that ends the next morning?
It belongs to the day it starts, so your calendar does not show a phantom shift on the following day. Night premium is still counted for the minutes that fall inside the night window, whichever day they land on.
Can I check it against my payslip?
That is what the export is for: a month of shifts with hours and amounts, as a PDF you can hold next to the payslip.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. If you want your shifts on more than one device, turn on iCloud sync and they travel through your own iCloud.
